Summer Holiday painting wooo! This is done in my beloved oil paints, and is my third oil painting of a person.
 Her eyes just about took a whole yonk to fix and equalize as well as the skin (which, after all that work, I relentlessly covered in orange speckles,) and the hill/waterfall..thing, looks a slight mess , but all in all I'm pretty proud of it!  Maybe it could be made better in the forest department, like with it's boring, flat lighting issues - but since I wanted little Miss Autumn here to be all glowing and bright, the sun had to face her, so I felt uninspired with tree shadows and whatnot. But on the other hand, it might be making her 'jump out' more? You know this wasn't even going to be an autumn picture, it just turned out that way. ANYWAYS! I hope you like it! |

I know it's a small thing but I really love the little flower specks along each side of the path, gives it that extra bit of delicate realism!

Just a few of my favourite bits then: Her face! It's so pretty and well done. Her expression, I dunno, I can't explain it - lovely.
The flowers on the forest floor really add to the effect of the painting.
The bark and detail on the trees.
Only crit? The waterfall, though beautifully done, there's just one stroke of brush that looks a little messy. Is it water flowing down the hill? I'm stupid, sorry.

Thankyou! I like her expression too. She's very, hmmm.. well she looks very 'at home' and calm.
LOL, I'M the stupid one! I did a waterfall coming down a hill even though there wouldn't be a river ontop of a hill, if it could go to the ground earlier. I didn't really think of that when I thought 'yaaaay waterfall!!
